Well, I don't really spend all that long on MSN, I normally keep it open if I'm not doing something that's really important so that my friends and family can contact me if they want to.

Quote by Aoshi101I go on just about everytime I get online. Depends. Its not addicting to me, the only reason why I use it so much is because thats the only way I can contact some people.

It really depends on why you go on msn.

Aoshi101 has put it very well indeed

Well, I really liked both series 1 and series 2 but I think that seeing the first series really helped me understand what was going on with the characters when I saw the second series :) I thought the second series was quite sombre/more serious compared to the first. My favourite character has to be Aya... he had such a way with words in the first series and looked so lovely in that apron he wore when working :D I forgot to mention what lovely hair he's got as well! I have to admit I'm a sucker where it comes to redheads... especially those with long hair like Aya and Kenshin ;) for me, Aya only got better when they hit series 2 both in looks and character development :) he has to be one of the most saddest and tragic heroes I have ever come across with regards to anime... although I enjoyed watching the second series I found that it affected me because I found it so tragic and sad... especially the last couple of episodes in connection with Aya... in the end, after watching it for a few times in succession I decided to put this anime away because of this and pull out something a bit more light-hearted instead ^_^' the one character in this series that annoyed me every now and again has to be Omi I'm afraid... many people have said it's just a very bad rip-off of Saiyuki but I don't think so at all and I like the both of them :) the opening themes for both of them in the first series is a bit too similar for my liking and invites you to think like this so I think that those working on Weiss Kreuz made a very bad error when they did this but the opening theme and accompanying video which they had for the second season of Weiss Kreuz was absolutely fabulous as far as I'm concerned... actually, I'm not really sure where it comes just that it does make up the beginning or ending at some part during season 2, it's the one where they're all covered in blood and in the background you have a cross and statues of Angels etc it does an excellent job of summing up all of their feelings as far as I'm concerned :) I can't quite remember at what stage in the series this video was used because the last time I saw this series was about a year ago I'm afraid ^_^'

I think it depends on the type of hair you have (curly or straight), if you're a boy or girl, have a good pair of scissors and what type of hairstyle you have in the first place... when I used to have short layered hair then I would go to a hairdresser to get it cut so that it would be done correctly but apart from that, I've always cut my own hair since my early teens... I think so long as you make sure to cut your hair when it's wet, with a good pair of scissors and with a couple of mirrors so you can check what you're doing and make sure it's relatively level then it should turn out okay in the end... if you think you're not going to get it level then get somebody to help you who you trust to do the right thing in cutting your hair if it's just trimming a little off the end... personally I think that if I had straight hair, I would definitely get somebody else to cut it because it's harder to make mistakes and cover them up afterwards than with curly hair...

The last movie I watched properly was the House of Flying Daggers and it was absolutely awesome... breathtaking scenery, lots of action and swordplay with a bit of romance thrown in for good measure... Best foreign movie I've seen to date :)

I enjoy having a bit of cheesecake and every now and again just so long as it's just come out of the fridge or it's still really cold... if it's all warm it just doesn't taste the same to me I'm afraid :) ;)

I normally say the rosary when I can't go to sleep... 95% of the time I drift off to sleep within a matter of minutes! :) ;)

BAFTA's and Oscars eat your heart out :D let the "Celebration of Love" contest commence... good luck to everybody who decides to throw their hat into the ring... I'm sure the judging will be a heck of a lot fairer than the other two I've mentioned above :D :) ;)

f

Hello there Jyu-Jyu :) just dropping by to say that everything is fine with me ;) I hope everything is going well for you... if I'm not mistaken you're due to have your little one very soon indeed ^_^' good luck and take care of yourself and all the best for the future...

I don't think it's wrong at all to have close friendships with people who have differing political views from your own :) I think it's very narrowminded to overlook somebody just because their views aren't necessarily the same as the ones you hold... you become friends with others for a lot of reasons but you shouldn't let something like politics stand in the way of you becoming good friends with others because of your differing viewpoints... you can have plenty of heated and lively debates/discussions with them at times because of it and I think it really helps you to think about why you hold the values you do etc the key is to respect and tolerate one another regardless... life would be very boring indeed if we all agreed with one another

f

The best thing that you can do is to try and stay positive throughout it all which is currently what you're trying to do whenever you can... but I can understand why sometimes you might get down about the whole thing and about what the future might have in store for you... it's not an easy thing to have to cope with especially when you notice that your vision is gradually deteriorating on you :( if I knew I was going to go blind, I'd try and stay as positive about everything as I could and as well as trying to soak up as much as I could visually, do my best to live my life to the fullest bearing in mind my eyesight was gradually deteriorating on me, I would also make sure I planned for the future from the point of view that I would start to learn Braille so I would be more prepared to face the future... with regards to anime, as daos mentioned earlier on in her post, despite the fact you won't be able to see it, you'll still be able to listen to it... I know it's not the same but at least it's still something. At the end of the day you can only live each day as it comes, try and get the most out of each and every day... don't ever give up and don't ever lose hope... science and technology are wonderful things and medical breakthroughs are being made each and every day... I hope that some of them will be of use to you in battling this very rare eye disease you have...

f

Well, I'm just going to do the same thing I do each and every day :) for me it's going to be just the same as every other day ^_^' I have bought a little something for a couple of people in my family to celebrate... my sister's two kids will be staying with me on that day as they have half term the whole of this coming week :D I think that's a really lovely idea of yours, to send all of your friends roses... that's a very caring thing to do especially for those that don't have anybody else to celebrate with romancewise :)

f

It's a very good thing she was so persistent... I'm very glad the state trooper listened to her and took her suspicions seriously... I wish there were more people in the world out there like her...

f

That's really sad... it's so important to concentrate when you're driving, I don't think people should talk at all on cellphones when they're driving a car... if you absolutely have to talk to somebody, they should find an appropriate place to stop the car so they can use it safely and not pose a risk to themselves and others using the roads...

f

I like cream soda because because it's so sweet ^_^' I'm a sucker for anything that remotely hints of vanilla :D

f

I think they can :) you hear more about male celebrity chefs then you do about female ones ^_^' as to whether they actually bother to do so is another thing entirely!

f

I don't think they'll ever really make a sequel to Fruits Basket as much as I'd like to believe they would... actually, I found the ending really moving but that's probably because I don't read manga and so I couldn't compare the two ^_^' I get so emotional when it comes to the last three episodes that I always have to make sure I have a spare box of Kleenex beside me whilst I'm watching it ^_^' I was happy to see them walking off together at the end but I couldn't believe that was the end of it... I didn't want it to end because it was such a lovely anime ^_^' even though I learned later on that most people thought it was really bad compared to the manga, personally, I still think it was fantastic...

Quote by OdeenaEvery day I have the feeling that I'm doing a crime because I'm different from most people around me, even though I *know* they're wrong to just resume to living their own selfish and ignorant lives without giving a damn about what's going on around them, so long as it doesn't bother them...

When I say that I'm different, I mean that I'm more aware of what's going on around me, that I question the meaning of my life rather than just taking for granted all the crap everyone feeds me, like "You live because you have to please God", or "for the society", or "for your mother and father", or... Strange that no-one says I can live for myself, even though we're talking about *my* life in the end. I also question other things, like why do I have to respect a teacher that bullies me and tells me all kinds of crap (even though he has no reason to hate me since I'm one of the best in my class), just because he's the teacher and I'm the student.

And there's another thing... I'm original, I like to be different from everyone else, but when I express it I either get bullied, shouted at, or downright humiliated (like it happens with my teacher). Everyone tries to make me become one of them, a "normal" person, and they don't give a damn that I'm a writer and an artist (...I'm going to publish a debut volume of short stories next year), and that I've got a damn fragile psychic balance... Sometimes I think the universe plain and simple hates me.

*sigh* You know, I actually feel better now that I got this out... If you actually want to sympathize with me, feel free to, and I will love you forever... XD

It's okay to be different you know :) it's not a crime, I think it's wonderful that you can express yourself, your individuality instead of hiding it or burying it in an effort to blend in with those around you. It takes a lot of strength to go against the norm so to speak ;) you sound as if you're very intelligent and very curious/questioning about life in general and I think that's very healthy indeed... maybe a lot of those around you wish they had the kind of inner strength you seem to possess which enables you to have the confidence to stand your ground against everybody else and actually be yourself ;) your originality is what makes you stand out from the crowd... because you refuse to conform to their idea of what a "normal" person is supposed to be like, I think quite a lot of them may find it hard to know how to interact with you, some may choose to leave you alone because they may be at a loss as to how to go about getting to know you because they perceive you to be so different from themselves, others might pick on you for lots of reasons like being envious of your intellect/talent and your refusal to conform etc... however, I'm sure you'll find others out there who are willing to accept you for who and what you are... if you're happy with yourself that's the most important thing, if other people have a problem in accepting you for who you are it's their problem, not yours...

Quote by mughiFor the 2005 year, weather has been very active and volatile. Some part of the world has been clobbered by unseasonably cold spell and snow. Other part of the world is exactly opposite with unseasonably warm temperature for the winter.

Weather pattern will always change but how much of this change was caused artificially by man? Had United States join the rest of the world in Kyoto Protocal, would it make big difference? I think China refused to join also and that country is going full speed in industrilization which means more pollution will be generated from that country down the road.

As for myself I hope the next president of United States will reverse course and United States will sign the Kyoto Protocal.

The weather will always be unpredictable but I think that a lot of the changes we're seeing these days can be put down to mankind, we're doing a sterling job of polluting the planet and I really think it's started to catch up with us... mankind has been too greedy to think about looking at alternative sources of energy etc that we could use that would be less harmful to the environment because it was more expensive in the past despite the fact that they've been around for decades... the vast majority of governments have always tended to be very shortsighted when it comes to forking out money to try and do the "right" thing for the environment because this means more money which is unpopular with voters... it's only for example because oil prices have increased so much that the greener alternatives have become viable now but they have been available for quite a while, there's just been no incentive for governments to try and push them to get the public/petrol stations or carmakers to take it on board... we've always been polluters on this planet but personally I believe it only really took off when we had the Industrial Revolution and because the effects have been gradual, we've tended to ignore it and get on with our own agendas and now mother nature is making herself more vocal... not only have we been polluting the planet, to add insult to injury, we've been chopping down the rain forests and such which is just sheer stupidity in my mind. Mankind has always dragged its heels on making things better for the long-term, the Kyoto protocol may be filled with good intentions but did it come into effect too late? At any rate, it's a start and countries no longer have the luxury of burying their heads in the sand with regards to climate change etc we all need to work together to try and lessen the effects we're having on our planet... any changes made by us won't be felt for many years hence I should imagine but somewhere down the line they will be so it is worth trying to do something about it. I think we should try and help emerging powerhouses like China and India by giving them financial incentives to encourage them to take up more environmentally friendly ways of taking up their new places in the world order so to speak. We may not have known what we were doing as countries when we went through our own Industrial revolutions but we know better now and we're only now just beginning to reap our rewards where the environment is concerned... we should help out those other countries to do it in a much more environmentally friendly manner... we're always making progress on the science and technology side of things so we can make a difference to help lessen the environmental foot prints we leave behind us but this should go hand-in-hand with other such things such as pushing forward with more renewable energy, recycling and looking after what little is left of our rainforests etc we've got to try and think about the future generations and not just the here and now...
